Who We Are

So...What is the North Lancaster Neighborhood Association?

The North Lancaster Neighborhood Association (NOLA) is one of 19 neighborhood associations officially recognized by the City of Salem.  We are recognized by and receive staff support from the City, but importantly, we are self directed.  We elect a chairperson and board to set an agenda and conduct neighborhood business. NOLA has legal standing in all land use matters that affect our area and has the opportunity to comment on a variety of issues affecting our community.

Thus, NOLA is:

A Neighborhood Association that is a forum that provides information and a means to make change in your community and neighborhood.

What We Do

NOLA provides a forum to let neighborhood citizens help to become aware of and involved in issues that impact their lives. If you desire change in your neighborhood, these are the meetings you need to attend. 

NOLA includes visits from our City Councilor and employees of the City, police department, Neighborhood Liaison to the City, and visits from potential government candidates, just to name a few.  NOLA provides updates in many areas of interest: Land Use, Neighborhood Watch, Traffic, Parks, neighborhoods and schools,  and passes out reports, flyers, and brochures from other decision-making bodies.
